Farewell — my Jellyfin server is closing.
After years of sharing this library with you, I’ve decided to retire my self-hosted Jellyfin server. The server is now offline for good, and I wanted to tell you personally rather than let it disappear without a word.
Why this existed
This server was born out of frustration. As a paying subscriber I was more than happy to pay to enjoy the content I loved — yet shows kept vanishing mid-season, or disappearing entirely, whenever licensing deals shifted. The alternative was ad-filled piracy sites, which was no way to enjoy anything. So I offered this service, with the help of Jellyfin.
I never ran this service with the intention to gain anything from users. The only goal was availability and a smooth, enjoyable watch. It was never meant to end on such short notice — but circumstances no longer allow me to keep it running.
I’m proud of what this was, and grateful it could be here for as long as it lasted. Thank you for letting it be part of how you enjoyed the content you love.
Status
Might it come back?
Maybe. I haven’t ruled out bringing the server back someday if the time and circumstances line up — but I can’t make any promises. Treat this as a real goodbye for now, and if anything changes, I’ll let you know.
If it does return, it will be at the same URL address — but access won’t carry over automatically. You’d need to request access again from the owner.
